On April 26, 2023, on Earth Day, we at Lily Leaves Social Enterprises conducted a small event to initiate the Urban Biodiversity Restoration project Phase I at Kirtipur Nagarpalika Ward 9. Hello Kirtipur Municipality
At this event, Lily Leaves invited representatives from different organizations to inaugurate our project by planting samplings together.The representatives present were:
- Kirtipur Mayor Shree Krishna Man Dangol
- Falful Bikas Kendra Adhyan Kendra representatives
- Krishi Anusandhan Kendra representatives
- B.P. Koirala Bigyan Pratisthan representatives
- NAFHA representatives
- Kathmandu Division Forest Officer
- Agricultural Extension Department representatives – TU
- Municipality Police Officers
We have completed many projects like this in the past inside the Kathmandu Valley, such as:
1) Urban Forest Phase I – Bishnumati River, Tekhu
2) Urban Forest Phase II – Bishnumati River Right Bank, Tankeshor Road, Dhaukhel
3) Urban Forest Phase III – Bishnumati River Right Bank, Shobha Bhagwati
4) Urban Forest Phase IV - Bagmati Corridor, Sanepa
5) Swoyambhu Religious Forest Reforestation Project – I
6) Swoyambhu Religious Forest Reforestation Project – II
…and many more.
Although Lily Leaves has completed many successful projects in the past, every project holds equal importance to us, because the core objectives of these plantation projects are:
1) To protect and preserve the ecosystem and biodiversity
2) To reduce pollution and ensure breathable air for every organism
3) To restore the habitat of urban animals
4) To contribute to the fight against climate change
5) To create a cleaner and greener environment
Finally, we extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one who was present at the event organized by Lily Leaves, as well as to those who offered their support in their own way.
It shows the compassion people hold towards the improvement of the environment around us.
These may be small steps towards a greener tomorrow, but in the end, we know that small steps matter.

Lily Leaves Social Enterprises, founded in 2020, runs a women empowerment program focused on tailoring training in Madhesh Province.
On March 16, 2026, Lily Leaves completed the 4th phase of their Urban Forest project at Bagmati Corridor, Sanepa, Lalitpur, planting around 5,000 saplings of 40 native species using the Miyawaki Method.
